Stronghold – Review by Leo
If you really enjoy simulation-type of games, then this is for you. Stronghold combines multiple gaming options into one single package, all neat and tidy. The combat system is altogether awesome and will keep you addicted for days. There are four kingdoms that you get to control if you play customizable missions: the Rats, the Pigs, the Snakes, and the Wolves. All kingdoms have their own physical “style” and a few unique weapons. If you’re a castle lover and could bare some thought on being the king of a small fortress, then buy this game, (or at least download it)… =P Fun Factor – It is quite fun if you actually go deep down into the dungeons of the game and try to discover new options and military strategies to use on your foe, but after awhile it does get kind of boring. The enemy and your own guys do nothing but shoot around (a quarter of the time they miss) unless you take full control, which I don’t. Graphics – The graphics are pretty nice, except it still gives that old-generation 2D look. The trees especially appear the most realistic, as it sways and dances in the wind, giving the map a more realistic feel. Other than that, Stronghold could’ve used some better rendering. Sound – The sound, unfortunately to say, is the most lackluster of this game. To the irritating wails and the howls of the men on the battlefield, and their shrilled cries of dying and yelling, this game just can’t seem to keep up with the modern crowd. There are, however, very cool ambient environmental effects which makes the audio “okay.” Controls – The controls are the most awesome aspect of gameplay. Everything is preset ready for you to use and with a few clicks here and there, you’ve basically created a fantasized fortress that won’t fall until the third enemy invasion. The interface is easy and uncomplicated to use. Overall Rating –
